So the school semester is about the wrap up for students out there and soon it will be Summer and time to enjoy all the benefits of an awesome party season. Leading up to summer is still a good lineup of shows we want to keep up to date with. First off is some good news for EDM in Cruces, with Pub Club Wednesday @ Hurricane Alley Pub. This weekly/ bi-monthly event is bringing together some great talent and awesome music on Hurricane’s sound system. Not too much in Cruces going on like this so we definitely recommend checking it out! More info here
The same evening as Neon Desert Festival, The Barbed Wire Open Mic Series has been providing a solid spot for emcees and poets to rock the spot and vibe with other creative individuals. This is going down at the Percolator and they are even hosting an emcee battle at the beginning! Check it out here
With May comes La Parada to warm up your nightlife. This month’s looks to be big with heavyweights Radio La Chusma playing as well as Mariachi Zacatecano rocking the full band – and DJs Rob Bass, System Addict, One Man Jazz and Ocatvio PD spinning those essential beats. More info here
Looking a little farther ahead is the incredible Jesse Rose playing for the Night Creatures series brought by Pastilla Digital. They are bringing this big talent in to play at the Black Pearl in EP – look for another post as the show approaches and another from the series – Tiefschwarz! This week for April 23rd they have the EP favorite Nekstone coming back to El Paso for some more house love from one of the best spots for serious bass and perfect atmosphere. Up North in NM they have Nasty Nasty to look forward to on April 30th at the Launchpad. Nasty Nasty is definitely a top Dubstep producer who seems to fuse a balance between soul and bass with all the right melodies and moods. The rest of the lineup looks equally balanced with a slew of upcoming dubstep talent from the area. More info 
Don’t forget about Something Sweet on the 16th from the same good people that bring you First Fridays and more! With Sets coming from One Man Jazz, Raydub, Rob Bass and more this is gonna be an awesome spot to hit up! Simply the biggest thing to show up on our nearby radar is this one – a REAL festival with a massive lineup featuring everything from Omar Rodriguez-Lopez (of Mars Volta fame) to MSTRKRFT, Zechs Marquise and alot of other acts this is looking super impressive. Last one we want to shout is Pig & Dan coming through April 23rd at the new Club Fuzion opening up on Yarbrough. The news of a new club is always good and Pig and Dan throw down some serious tech house stormers. Alright! Were back for another update and this one looks better than ever! This week techno legend Marco Carola is gonna rip through a minimal set at Club 101! His new album has been killing it worldwide and his sets are always phenomenal. We are super excited about this one – make sure not to miss! Check out the album 
Another insane show is the super dope JLive headed to El Paso! With local backup from System Addict and One Man Jazz this is gonna be one awesome show. On top of all that it is FREE! That’s right, free! This one is going down March 21st and J live will no doubt be rocking the mic & the decks for a wicked all around underground hip hop experience. More info 
Alexi Delano is going to make another El Paso appearance on April 2nd. This dude throws down some seriously innovative techno and we always love to hear what he has going on. It is going to be at Wet Ultra lounge and the rest of the details are little slim, but check 
Sean Price AKA Ruck from Heltah Skeltah is doing a show on April 7th at the Low Brow Palace in El Paso. It seems like Spring is the time for some good hip hop shows and we are hella excited to see them popping up more around here! Big Ruck brings the heat with tough street lyrics and heavy rhyme styles over brooding beats. More info on this 
That same night Dfault Gallery presents Exquisite Dorks from 7-11pm with some fresh new pencil drawings from dope local talent. This is not too far from La Parada so it’s gonna be great for meeting up before the party. More info

Another show we have been really excited about is Thee-O heading to Mbar on March 5th! This dude has been playing alongside some of the best DJs in the world in festivals and underground parties. Wax Wednesdays are celebrating their 3 year anniversary with Habersham coming back through with local heavy hitter Bionic playing at Soho Lounge on the 23rd. Their anniversary celebration continues into March and they will be announcing a second part to this event so I recommend staying tuned and seeing what they got up their sleeves! You can keep up 
Darkroom Saturdays are still looking dope as ever with a great lineup this week. They have Chef, Blis, Alfredo Maci, Noevol and Brian Camarena rocking out with the excellent vibe and beautiful people. Looks like a night of top notch house and deep dubby beats from this local lineup and we love supporting such an underground idea. More info 
The incredible techno producer Dustin Zahn will be headed here on the 26th @ M-Bar. With the deep dark, heavy sounds Dustin has been releasing, expect this to be one bangin’ show. As the head of the labels Enemy Records and Abiotic Recordings he is well known for commanding an impressive set garnering respect and accolades with some of the biggest clubs and names in techno. Soho lounge has things picking up with Dirty Fridays and this week looks hot with the Dustcity favs Octavio and Zeke Noevol rocking the spot. Residents Vinn-e and Deftech will be rounding out the lineup and we have to say we really enjoy the vibe at Soho, and the deals are looking perfect for getting a break from that rough week. This week Darkroom Saturdays is keeping it fresh with a dope diverse lineup! We hear the vibe is chill, the sounds are killer top-notch and this week the DJs are playing some house and breaks. Need a fix for a big ass show? Well here is one for ya’…Above and Beyond are seriously sick at dropping dope sets wherever they go and I am pretty sure this will be no different, this time on the 18th at the Sunshine in Albuquerque. Now I am not a huge trance fan or anything, but this act is definitely one to catch. SMG has been doing it huge in New Mexico and this year looks great from the group. More info 
Speaking of Albuquerque the annual hip hop show Breakin Hearts is back again and it has always been an amazing show. With B-boy battles, workshops, art and live music this one is truly underground – dont sleep! More info 
February is turning out to look like an AMAZING month with a ton of top talent coming through, and first we are super excited to see Robert Babicz coming on Feb 12th to El Paso! This is one hell of a headliner with his studio mastery knocking it out of the park anytime he releases a track! If you think you are a good producer, just try to remix one of his tracks and post it on soundcloud – and he will give feedback EXACTLY how he feels. He made a name for himself as Rob Acid – making banging tech and acid tracks for quite a while and now he is regarded as a true studio master. Next we have AMP bringing another big name – Worthy, fromthe DirtyBird Label. Worthy is a super in-demand name in the house circuit right now, alongside major players like Claude Von Stroke and J Phlip. With a string of solid releases on quite a few prominent labels such as Curfew, Om and Utensil as well as his own label Katabatic Records – worthy is destroying dancefloors worldwide with that bangin’ bass sound. One last one real quick that we heard about is legendary lyricist Black Thought coming through El Paso on Jan 29th. The info is kinda slim but it will be at Wet Ultra Lounge and the fliers are already out but no fb page for the event. Really though, what else do you need to know? It’s Black Thought! As if being in the seminal hip hop group The Root wasn’t enough – this major inspiration from Philly has worked with just about all of the best producers in the world and his next level conscious rhymes are always elevating the game.
