Happy Holidays!

Ok here is our last post for this year, and what an interesting one it was…Thanks for joining us in celebrating Underground Culture as we continue onward! Lets look at our wrap up of shows to get us into 2012.

First up is one of the many ‘ugly sweater’ parties this year, this one at Hurricane Alley Pub with Moleman and TRiST. We are also taking in any clothing donations you would like to bring, so please remember to do so if you make it out with us. More info here

Here is a wonderful gift from our friends at Always Moving People. Christian Martin is playing a FREE show (that’s right, FREE!!!) on December 16th at Soho Lounge in El Paso. This is a great opportunity to head out to catch some amazing music at an incredible deal! Big thanks to A.M.P. More info here

Also look out for Loco Dice playing at Nova Luna on Dec 16th.  With Gabriel I and Cesar Acosta opening up you can expect a night of top notch music. More info here

Here is a big one going down on Dec 23rd. DJ Rap, Habersham, British Lizard, Supafly and many others make up this extensive lineup. With plenty of local talent and also unique attractions like a fashion show, piercing and concessions expect this and more to keep the vibes high. More info here

Here is a good one to get you going once the new year starts! Wolf + Lamb are headed to El Paso to play at the Lowbrow on Jan 13th. Some serious innovators from New York whom always seem to get nods from top DJs and critics alike. A definite must see – more info here

Ok well that wraps up our final post for this year! Thanks again for all your support and we look forward to bringing you the best in 2012! Have a safe, happy Holiday and New Year! Cheers

In Session

Alright! We have been super busy again trying to stay caught up with all the dope shows and interesting things going down! Den Ishu sounds like it went down proper last night with extra sound to back up the next level DJ. Props to AMP and H.A.U.S. for bringing the serious raw talent.  Up North this week we have a dope one from Sound Evolution with Albuquerque heads like Rhythm Kicker, Sebby Frescoe and Aaron K. @ the Blackbird Buvette.  Look for more from this team in the upcoming months, it looks like some big things are in the works. More info here

April kicks off this month and we have another fresh La Parada to look forward to! This month they have Noevol, Max Pounder DJing along with mainstays Rob Bass and System A.  SoundOnSound will be doing a live performance as well.  We hear they are trying to expand La Parada into a larger format with new sound, more vendors and still the best vibes around! Make sure to click here and get more info on this.

Something sweet

April also has a new monthly in El Paso called Something Sweet which opens with a killer lineup including Jeff Craven (owner of Large Music in Chicago) One Man Jazz, Raydub and mega Dubstep gangster Rob Bass.  This show looks like a super fresh idea starting at 4 pm and going into the evening of the 16th. Check it out here

So it looks like WMC and SXSW wrapped up with some fresh highlights and interesting stories so far. Tyler the Creator from Odd Future climbs higher in the hip hop hipster domain(and higher on speakers), exclusive shows and guest appearances popping up everywhere – its just a lot to miss.  Which we did, unfortunately.  To catch up we recommend surfing through a few of out links like urb.com and ones like remix report – http://remixreport.com/wmc-2011-recap/

Speaking of links, make sure to click on the right where it says, “Show Widgets” to see the links in the sidebar.

It is getting closer to festival time now that Spring is here and that means we are going to have a look at all the best and biggest things going down that are all probably sold out already (whack!) but are still worth checking out . Of course come back for a new DJ of the month for April as well as more shows and updates! We want to leave you with a killer new mix from TRiST!
