Beyer & Ingberg

@ club 101

We are happy to report that Adam Beyer and Ida Engberg both put forth an amazing show.  The turnout was still a little low and the club was closed off in one side, using a curtain to separate the area.  Still the sounds provided by these techno-philes was truly inspirational.  There was no lights on the dancefloor except from a projector behind the stage which gave it a nice warehouse feel.  Ida Engberg began her set early, greeting arrivals to the show with a brilliant variety of techno and tech house sounds.  She ultimately had the best set, showcasing a talent with her taste that seemed to elevate the mood with each track, and stunning basslines every which way!  Adam Beyer played a very dark, driving sound, not for the faint of heart. The throbbing production was all about the sound of techno, and was minimally dependent on melody.  Extremely cerebral and uncompromising, Beyer kept up with his legendary name by bangin’ like only he can.   Here are a few more shots of the show:

You can also find a video here. Thanks again to SMG for bringing out the talent, and big thanks to Adam and Ida – you ROCKED!!!

In recent EDM news, Lovefest AKA Lovevolution was cancelled this year, due to issues with location and other tragedies from this summer.  You can find out more info here.   With EDM getting more and more mainstream coverage, we are going to see several issues coming back with the public trying to condemn ‘raves’ and festivals with issues like drug use and overcrowding locations.  It is important to remember where things started but still keep an open mind towards progression and maintaining safety.  Festivals of any type are always going to be associated with drug use and clubs have always had questionable reputations throughout history.  We must really consider the issues, and not play into any media fear spreading campaigns trying to lead a hunt against party kids.  We can be as responsible as we choose and always- please support the MUSIC!

Monster Massive is still shaping up in Oct 23rd in LA with a huge lineup, including Digweed, Carl Cox, Steve Lawler, and Pete Tong. One we definitely wish we could make.

Coming up locally is the one and only Prefuse73 , with the mysterious Neon Indian , and Miniature Tigers.  The show looks like a pretty wild tour, promising some indie rock with heady psychedelic beats setting aim straight for your hipster affection.  We are certainly most excited to see Scott Heren and how exactly he will be ripping it up that night, sampler or otherwise. The ‘chillwave’ sounds of Neon Indian are pretty good too, so expect to see a good turn out at the Black Market on Oct 3rd – details and tickets here.

Last up we wanna shout out Deja, John Bowra and everyone up in Albuquerque for their work putting together Party in the Park for the whole summer and making it an awesome success! You can check out our earlier posting on Albuquerque where we covered a trip we made it out for Party in the Park.  The last one for this year is on Sep. 25th in Roosevelt park, it looks like an awesome one, with tons of talent! Expect to see some great shots from this one.

Again we gotta hype up the end of summer list coming up soon, with shots from festivals and big news that hit this summer. Also we gotta thank you for checking back with us! Please hit us with any feedback or comments that you wanna throw out!
